June 25, 2007 – Yamaska well completed on budget and on schedule

Calgary, Alberta - Questerre Energy Corporation ("Questerre" or the "Company") (TSX, OSE: QEC) announced that its partner, Gastem Inc. (“Gastem”), has completed drilling operations on the St. Francois-du-Lac No. 1 well on the Yamaska licenses in the St. Lawrence Lowlands, Quebec. Gastem, the operator, reported that the well was completed on budget and on schedule.

The primary target for this well is the Utica shale sequence and several cores samples were taken from the Utica for testing. Drilling was completed on June 18, 2007 after reaching its target depth of approximately 1700m in the Trenton-Black River formation. The well has been logged and cased as a potential natural gas producer. A completion program is under development to test several prospective intervals. These intervals will include a fracture zone at a depth of 465m in the Upper Lorraine where the well encountered a high-pressure natural gas kick.

The rig is being mobilized to the second location at St-Louis-de-Richelieu and the well is expected to spud shortly.

Michael Binnion, President and Chief Executive Officer of Questerre, commented, “Gastem did an excellent job operating this well. We concur with their assessment that the preliminary results are encouraging for shale gas in the Lowlands.”

Questerre Energy Corporation is a Calgary-based independent resource company actively engaged in the exploration, development and acquisition of high-impact exploration and development oil and gas projects in Canada.
