December 7, 2006 - Talisman updates Gentilly #1 well

Calgary, Alberta - Questerre Energy Corporation ("Questerre" or the "Company") reported today that Talisman Energy Inc. (“Talisman”), the operator, has updated the status of the Gentilly #1 well in the St. Lawrence Lowlands in Quebec. Questerre holds an interest in the Gentilly #1 well.

Talisman has commented that the Gentilly #1 well has encountered gas shows in shallow fractured shales as well as within the Trenton Black-River formation. Both gas shows are encouraging and subsequent testing is being planned to further evaluate the zones. The well is currently drilling ahead within the Potsdam formation and has nearly reached total depth.

The entire presentation made by Ron Eckhardt, EVP North America Operations, Talisman Energy Inc., at the Desjardins Materials Conference in Montreal, Quebec on December 4 and 5, 2006 can be viewed online at http://events.onlinebroadcasting.com/desjardins/120406/index.php.
