Calgary, Alberta - Questerre Energy Corporation (“Questerre” or the “Company”) (TSX, OSE:QEC) announced today the preliminary results from recent wells in Vulcan.
Questerre participated in the drilling of two wells just before spring breakup. These wells were targeting two different Mannville pools separate from our existing Mannville G pool.
The first well, the “5-6 well”, was a successful gas well. It was drilled to extend the existing Ensign Mannville pool, located 2 miles west of our Mannville G Pool. An initial four-day test was completed towards the end of March. For the last 24 hours of the test, the gas well flowed 255 barrels of oil equivalent on a 7.94 mm choke. The 5-6 well will be tied into the local gathering system during the second quarter. Questerre has a 50% interest in this well.
The second well, the “13-16 well”, was drilled at the end of last month to test a new Mannville pool to the south of our Mannville G Pool. Based on an evaluation of drilling logs, the well has been cased as a potential producer. Due to spring breakup the well was not completed or tested and remains unevaluated at this time. This well is prospective for natural gas in an upper horizon and also has coal bed methane (“CBM”) potential. Completion and testing are expected following spring breakup.
