Calgary, Alberta - Questerre Energy Corporation (“Questerre”) (TSX:QEC) and Stylus Energy Inc. (“Stylus”) (TSX: STY) reported today on recent developments in the Vulcan area of southern Alberta.
The first well in the development program for the new Mannville pool was successfully drilled and cased for the target formation. Based on an evaluation of drilling logs, the well will be completed as a potential gas producer and tested shortly thereafter. Drilling operations commenced February 1, 2006 on the next well in the development program.
The first well in the shallow drilling program for Belly River and Horseshoe Canyon gas targets has also been cased.
Questerre and Stylus also recently expanded their land interests in the Vulcan area through a farm-in on three sections for gas rights, including one section prospective for a Mannville development location. They have committed to drill one well to earn an interest in a single section, with rolling options to drill up to two additional wells to earn on the same terms.
